Tools of Nexaura is an innovative alien-adventure RPG for the Game Boy Color. Explore an vast and unfamiliar alien world to stop an evil queen and uncover Nexauria’s secrets.

The Story

A freak lightning storm strikes Earth, and young Axel vanishes without a trace. When he awakens, he’s no longer in his bedroom... but in Nexauria — a wild, alien world teeming with bizarre creatures, ancient technology, and long-buried secrets.

But this once-harmonious land is unraveling. A tyrannical queen from another world has descended, spreading her influence like a virus and twisting Nexauria to her will.

Alone, lost, and with no sign of his mother, Axel must awaken hidden powers, outwit strange foes, and uncover the truth behind a crumbling world — before it falls into darkness forever.

Nexauria is a living world ready to be explored. Guide Axel through ponds, fields, and ancient bridges filled with characters, obstacles, and strange machines. Press A to interact and Start to open the menu.

Battles
Nothing comes easy in Nexauria! To survive, you’ll need to face off against strange and powerful creatures—each with their own patterns, weaknesses, and tricks.

The Toolbox: Utility at Your Fingertips
The Toolbox is a utility app featuring a variety of simple, functional tools. From pixel art and music creation to timers, randomizers, and flashlight options, it is designed for quick access and everyday use.

Creative Tools
Unleash your imagination with a wide range of creative tools. Craft pixel-perfect masterpieces using the Pixel Art app, or compose melodies with the Music Lab.

Productivity & Randomizers
Stay focused or introduce some randomness to your day. Use the Pomodoro Timer to improve concentration, or try the Magic 8-Ball, Coin Flip, and Dice Roll tools when you want some chance in your routine.

Utility
Practical features to assist you in any situation. Illuminate your surroundings using the LED Flashlight, send secret messages with Morse Code, or test your console with the System Tester—tools designed to keep you prepared.

Browse a curated collection of art and music in Game Boy form in this digital showcase! The Gallery is divided into three unique sections, each offering a different way to experience creativity on the cartridge.

Browse a collection of images in various formats, including GB Camera pictures, full color images, and printable pieces. Enjoy a wide range of visuals made by the team!

Digital Theater
Watch pixel actors perform classical stories on the Digital Theater stage. Each scene is a miniature performance, combining animation and storytelling to bring timeless tales to life in a new format.

Music
Listen to a selection of original tracks composed exclusively for the Gallery. These standalone pieces showcase unique sounds and moods not found anywhere else in the game—just press play and enjoy.\

 

NXA-NET

NXA-NET: Connect Beyond the Cartridge
NXA-NET lets you generate unique hex codes in your game to battle or send gifts. You’ll need to manually share these codes with friends. You can even receive surprise gifts via the internet!

Battle
Challenge other players by exchanging unique hex codes generated from your game save. Share your battle code, then enter your opponent’s code directly into your game to begin the fight.

Send & Receive Gifts
Share unique gift codes with friends by texting or messaging. Enter codes you receive directly into your game to unlock special items and surprises. Exchange gifts anytime to enhance your adventure and discover new content.

Online Item Distribution
Receive special items and bonuses through official gift codes distributed online via the NXA-NET Item Distribution Web App. Enter these codes into your game to unlock special items and other rewards.

How to play the expansion packs in-game:
Once you are done with the main story, return to Nexauria and talk to a Nexaurian NPC standing on a pile of leaves in Moku Village. If you have the Darkness of Dreams expansion, he will give you a task. Once you are done, if you have the blue moon expansion, he will give you another task. Enjoy!
